My 392 Engine brackets

The other thread about motor mounts & brackets reminded me of my 392 from about 30 yrs ago but I didn't want to side track or hijack that thread.
Pic is from the late 80's
I assumed at that time these motor brackets, & mounts, bellhousing & mounts, and tranny was what came on this 66 Town Wagon sense they looked like they were supposed to be there, and the door tag showed 318. Never bothered to research that to establish that fact.

So my question is, ...is that 318 stuff that I used or were these parts from something else, to be able to bolt up to a 392?
Figured they were, ...but always wanted to clear that up.
Edit: I see I should have put this in the "Engine/Driveline Help". Can it be moved?

Tough to confirm.... but they do look like the small block truck brackets and
rectangular rubber insulator. :thinking

Thats cuz the 392 is basically a small block. It uses the small block bell.

When I looked at the pictures I thought they looked like my LA mounts, glad I'm not the only one.

I guess the most interesting part would be where the 8 bolt flywheel came from? 413 truck?
Was there a 361 truck 8 bolt flywheel?

In a way, what I'm doing is rethinking :study the 392 idea again but for my recently purchased 64 D100, /6, 3spd. Not that I'm going to start on this idea soon, (need to keep the stuff on the front burner,...on the front burner  ),...just the latest toy purchase will usually get a lot of mental attention till the new wares off. For now I'm try'n to leave the D100 as a driver, just fix a few things for dependability.

I could steal those parts from the Town Wagon when the time comes, but I'm leaning towards a little better tranny idea this time with an 833. I haven't taken the time to :study the flywheel/clutch/disc compatibility, but I bought an Anson (sp) bellhousing many yrs ago, guy said they were built for the 392/833, probably was just a small block deal hyped up for the sale. Right now I'm a bit to sick to dig it out for a pic, but if it's really just a small block deal I also have a Lakewood s/b scattershield, or go Auto. If I stay with the stick I think I'd like to have a Frankenstein pistol grip.

Meanwhile back at the ranch....

I think they were all 8 bolt prior to 62, even on a small block.

Did a 1966 truck 318 4spd have an 8 bolt crank?

If so, that would make sense why a 392 can easily replace a 318 in a Town Wagon.
