Will V8 engine mounts/brackets from 1972 and newer dodge trucks work on a Sweptline?

I have heard NO. But I would like to know what is the problem. Rubber motor mount part differences can easily be dealt with.
My truck is younger than me.

Re: Engine mounts / brackets
I just received a pair of 1972-80 small block brackets I bought on ebay. They have 4 block bolt holes vs 3 on the earlier brackets , but otherwise fit the same.Caleray wrote:Will V8 engine mounts/brackets from 1972 and newer dodge trucks work on a Sweptline?
1 on left is like the later ones. Far right like the early ones I used when I swapped the /6 to poly in my '67 shorty.

2 black ones on the right I bought off a guy but don’t know what year sweptline they from. Gray ones I got off a ‘69. Gray ones are a little taller and the black ones angle back. The black one on far left is off an ‘85, passenger side.

Re: Engine mounts / brackets
I got a 318 out of an ‘85 Chrysler 5th Ave and the sweptline bracket is fine on driver side since the bracket fits to the rear of it.

Re: Engine mounts / brackets
If it was on the front like the passenger side it wouldn’t be wide enough.

Re: Engine mounts / brackets
This is from passenger side. This is the ‘69 bracket and it fits to the front of the engine. Obviously not wide enough.

Re: Engine mounts / brackets
This is the ‘85 pickup bracket. It’s wider and fits correctly.

Re: Engine mounts / brackets
The frontwards casting on the block is wider than earlier 318’s. Anyone else change engines and notice this? Since the ‘85 bracket is a little shorter I’ll just add a spacer under the bracket or motor mount. I’m guessing this should work. And on the ‘85 engine, the block casting on passenger side only has 1 hole on the rear. Strange that they would have changed the block casting at some time (if I’m correct).
