I have a Carter carburetor.. The manual choke pull is in place and was just pushed aside when I got a new engine that came with the vacuum choke. The vacuum choke failed and I didnt figure it as my problem and had a run around looking for gremlins until I found it. Since the manual choke is set up, and I distrust automatic things on old technologies, I'm going back to the manual choke.

Now, this is my problem. There is a bracket that should come off the carburetor and clamp the housing of the choke cable. What is that bracket called? How do I find one? My uncle is making one, and it doesn't even look that bad, but I'd like to know if the part I need is available in the bottom of an old box somewhere.

Thanks guys. I hope this one's an easy question.

maybe I can lookup a part number, if it's a 63 - 68.
what truck year, model, engine and trans? That's how the parts book is arranged.

Super cool. Thank you. It's from a 68 with a 318.

Throttle cable bracket

Turns out, the answer was easy. When you're upside down, greasy and cold, the simplest things can escape the mind.

How about "choke" cable bracket?
