All,
Would greatly appreciate some help. Have a 66 w200 with carb labeled Carter , but a sticker that says Holley refurbished. Here are a few pics. Do you know what carb rebuild kit I should get? I am definitely leaking air in around the intake.

Thanks so much.

It's a Carter BBD (Ball & Ball Double), and is a newer vintage than your truck. I'm guessing that is about a 1975 or so version originally. You should be able to find the right kit at Rockauto.com, but it may require comparing numbers on the carb. If you cant find a tag on it, as with many refurbs, casting numbers may help. If you can find one in the parts store or actual pictures of the kit, look for the kit with the gasket that will fit the steel plate above the fuel bowl and compare the gaskets you remove with the replacement gaskets carefully.

I also recommend you place posts of this nature in the Engine/Driveline help portion of this forum.

Glad you're here!

Scott

Scott, thank you so much for the thorough response. That was extremely helpful.

Is there a way to move the post or do the mods do that?

Thanks,
Rich

The Mods could, but it may be quicker to start another and post a link to it in this thread.

Rich,
What section would you like this moved to?

Thanks for moving the post.

Scott. Thanks for your tips. I checked out a 75 w200 318 carb kit and it fit! It had gaskets for another carb style too. Here is the link of it helps someone on the future.

I'll install in the truck tomorrow and see if it makes a difference.

And for completeness... for someone looking in the future, the numbers on the casting said
2285 inside
6-2137 on the outside back
MFD by Carter Carburetor St Louis USA 0-2378 on the outside float bowl
