D200 383 header choices?

Looking to possibly buy a set of headers for my 71 d200 with a 383 engine. What brands are out there that fit good with no interference with anything? Don't want to have to ding any tubes to make them fit. Are there any long tube headers that work? Thanks for any help.

I just ordered a set of Dougs 2" D452's for a 1969 D200. I will post here when I fit them. My dad and I are currently in the middle of a frame off restoration. We have the engine ready for assembly. Frame is naked. When the engine is installed in the frame, I'll install headers, and possibly temporarily mount cab to the frame to check for any figment issues. Truck will be a 440/727.

Still looking for a set that will fit. Prormk when do you think you will be able to get the engine in and test fit the headers?

Within a month. I work away from home, and will return there in 1.5 weeks. Have to finish up suspension, and get the frame rolling on wheels. Then build the engine up and install. I'll post as soon as I can.

What was the cost to ceramic coat and where did you get it done?

Pretty sure it was the below link. The guy I bought the extra manifolds from was(is?) a pretty serious drag-racer, running "tribute" 60's Dodges (Max Wedge). Also had a Sweptline, he was playing with. A very nice guy, he had me drive him to the coaters, on the spot, to introduce me. Paid $10 (eBay deal) for one manifold bought a second from him for $5. Anyway, shop min was $160 for ceramic coating. I was under the min, parts-wise, but there I was. Near certain it was the shop below. They were in the middle of large-scale production runs for either Hooker or Hedman headers (I think Hedman). I think they said I could've had one or two more sets done, for the same price.

Still building up engine. Having to work valvetrain meticulously. These d452 dougs headers are very nice units, have them in the shop. Can't wait to see what they look like and how they fit, not to mention how they perform!

I put Flowtech 13504's on my 71 d200 with a 383. Had to notch the right engine mount bracket a tiny bit. You do have to run a new style starter.

Hello from germany.
No patches or numbers on the headers.
I asked the son from the pre owner ( he is living in germany) if he knows something.
He told me that this must be some HEDMAN headers.
There is enough place at the starter, steering and tranny.

I took the HEDMAN h-pipe on it with some flowmasters and turn downs before the rear axle.

Thats all i can tell you.

Waiting for pushrods to arrive, then the engine will be built enough for install into frame. I can then pull through with pics and clearances, etc.....

Here you go. Everything fits well. Header collectors will have to be cut back as far as they can, angled down slightly, and scallop a bend down then back level to go under transmission crossmember. Just finished the engine enough to install in frame. 727 cases are empty and installed for mock up.

For anyone who's still looking, go with hookers. My dad bought a pair for his first sweptline in the 70's and he keeped them all these years so know they're going on my first sweptline. I looked the other day and they still make them, they run about $750

You might find that under hood temperatures get really high with long tube headers. I'm going with stainless shortys on my 440.
