First off, hello everyone. New to the sweptline couminty.
I just picked up a 1970 d100, it has a blown 318 in it now. The rest of the truck is in great shape.
I also have a 1973 Newport sitting in my driveway for the last few years, it's a nice car but it doesn't
Speak to me, i am interested in the 400 b engine that's in the car though. Runs real well.
So I'm thinking that mopar 400 b could live in the d100.
Anyone put a 400 b in 1970 or around that year sweptline?
Looks like motor mounts will have to change, but there seems to be plenty of room for it under the hood.
Any info would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks!!
Mark

Just treat the 400 as if you were bolting in a 383 that was optional for those trucks.
My truck is younger than me.
66 W100. 70 D 500 , 69 Hiab Speed Loader. 96 Ram 3500 Club Cab Cummin's 5 spd. 97 Ram 1500 Club Cab 5.9 gas auto. 83 W200 LB Propane 360 auto 09 Yammy Rhino 700.

Marfa!
Straightforward. Let me know if you want any pics. My (new to me) truck has a '77 New Yorker 440-4 w/727 swap. Not the most efficient engine. That '73 400 makes more power I'm sure.

Don't know how much this helps, but here are a few views of the engine mounting points.
