Switched my 70 d100 from /6 np435 to a 440/727. I would like to collect the parts to put the 4spd back in it. What can I use? I'm not sure if I could use an older bellhousing even though it has the middle engine mounts and also are all the big block combos a hydraulic clutch? I was hoping I could use my stock pedal linkage and Z bar. I have not seen a big block 4spd in real life so I need some help from you folks that have.
Thanks in advance!

U will need the costly and hard to find BB mech clutch bell and flywheel used in the trucks 69-71.

You want the 69-78 BB truck bellhousing & a 143 tooth flywheel (get the right balance for your 440). Those bells used to be in the $225 range, now they seem to be much higher.

I found Brewers has used ones listed over $400 but they are out. They did not say if they were hydraulic or not. There is an older bellhousing on eBay for 699!!! I could just buy an entire truck and swap trannies for that kind of money! Thanks guys!

That #3497272 on Ebay is the one you want though.

Make them an offer. Worst that could happen is they say No.
