Tapered axle swedged?

Its been a while since I've pulled a tapered axle. I'm going to swap to RH studs for my new wheels. I also need to swap a seal. Are the studs swedged? I'm going to get all the stuff beforehand.

rear drums are keyed not swedged on the 64 earlier axels, you do need a puller to get the drums off that use the wheel studs to hook onto, standard pullers don't work on this

Think the question is are the wheel studs swedged into drums so he can change lefty's for righty's. :thinking :thinking :thinking :thinking

Our 69 D200 studs were swedged. You could see the splines gouged in the drum.

Pop the wheel off and have a look.

Yes they are swedged. There is a thread on here( you will have to search for it). You will have to cut off the lugs and drill out the center to relieve pressure on the hub holes...as I remember.If you try to pound them out...may distort the hub. :study
