Clutch replacement

Post by fireguyfire »

I'm going to eventually have to replace the clutch in my newly acquired 70 slant 6.
Does anybody have any tips or tricks? I've replaced a few over the years in British sports cars but never an older dodge truck.

The shifter handle is removable. Turn the little "collar" counterclockwise while pushing down with channellock pliers. Other methods of removing it are discussed on the forum here in places.

Getting that out of the way is big step towards dropping the transmission.
