Transfer Case ID Help

Post by Brudog »

Hello All.

Couple questions.

1. Can you help ID my transfer case below? It has a 1.96 to 1 Ratio, C-92501(Q?), and C91133.

2. It appears where the speedometer cable connects to the transfer case has been leaking fluid. I think it is the seal inside the connection. Can anyone tell me the correct part name for that seal inside the housing of the cable where it connects to the T-Case?

Thank you and Happy New Year! :salut

Definitely a New Process case. I'd say a 205, but could be 201 or maybe one from IH.

If it is original to your 68, it would be a NP 201. Apparently, you have a 61-67 hood on the 68 in your avatar pic.

Bucky, thanks for the response.

PwrWgnDrvr - I am not sure if the transfer case is original or not. I knew my hood was not original, as it has light blue paint showing through on the underside, is missing the "Power Wagon" emblems, and has trim holes along both sides. Didn't know that it was a 61-67. I wonder how difficult it will be to find a '68 hood to replace it with...and I still need to find some decent PW emblems.

Any guidance on the name of the seal for the speedometer cable connection at the T-Case so I can replace that?

Thanks again!

Jim

Does it have 2 sticks or one? It looks like a NP205.

1 stick is a 205.
2 sticks is a 201.
68 hood is one yr only and very difficult to find in good condition.
PW emblems also difficult, especially in nice to excellent condition and not cheap. There are some exact repros somewhere for several hundred $.
