Clutch pedal pushes in hard

Post by bigks3 »

I have a 1963 w200. It had a slant 6 with a 4 speed. The clutch pedal pushes in hard and when I let up on the pedal, it comes back slowly.

My guess is that the master cylinder has set-up for a long time or the pedal assembly could use some lubrication.

Is it a manual clutch or hydraulic. if hydraulic, it could be the master cylinder or slave cylinder, they are both cheep to replace, either way also the throw out bearing may not be sliding very well on the tranny.
