3 on tree to 4 speed on floor

Post by 71swept777 »

Hey there,
My 71 Dodge D100 was born a 3 on the tree, but someone put in a 3 speed on the floor. They did a horrific job cutting the hole for the shifter - is there a more "normal/correct" way or thing that I could do to make it more of a factory look?
4 speed tunnel cover? Or? Thanks everyone!

If you want to keep the shifter on the floor you will have to fashion something to clean it up. That style was never offered as a floor shifter option. And the 4 speed truck trans hole is in a different spot.
My truck is younger than me.

Yeah I was guessing that was the case. It has a 3 speed in it now - but the speedo cable doesn't fit through opening and I have a 4 speed that came with sale - so want to try that. Needs new clutch and flywheel too.
