Please give an hint of what year and soon the replies will start.

There is an model of the same truck transmission that is
1 - 2 - 3 - 4 vs the one and two - three - four that you have.

If you're lucky..... you might come across an NP445 which has a
higher ratio for 1st gear and is fully synchro'd. The 23 spline
input shaft is what you're after. This should bolt right in too.

I'm installing an a833 in place of my NP435.

This is not a very simple swap. I have a Lakewood bellhousing to use for the trans, which is steel and allows me to fabricate engine mount bosses to weld on. I'll have to fab/tap holes for the slave cylinder as well. I'll also have to fab something between the shifter handle and automotive shifter mechanism.

I swapped a np445 into my 85 w250. 1st wasn't synchro'd. Well if it was my 1-2 was shot. There are np435's that have a 4.56 first gear, I believe the tag says 435a, find one of those and its a bolt in.
