Odd question, but on the big block heads do the exhaust bolts pass thru a coolant passage? Fired up my 1965 413 for the first time since the rebuild today and noticed coolant coming out of where I'd forgotten to install an exhaust bolt. I promptly installed the bolt and the coolant stopped flowing out. But I'm curious, and hopefull, about the bolt going thru a coolant passage....and hopefully it's NOT a screwed up head!

Re: Exhaust bolts thru coolant passages?
Yep. That's why I installed studs for my headers. So when I blow an exhaust manifold gasket I don't have to drain coolant. Sucks cause I found a pair of B/RB center dump manifolds. But don't want to have to find all my old bolts.
