Sir

The Rear Axle you are asking about is used in the 1972 and newer
Dodge ( entry level ) Trucks. It also is in the ( entry level ) Dakota's,
so why not your vehicle.

The 8 1/4 are good & will hold up to the 360 , as for the /6 a 3;55 will work real good or a 3;23

What transmission do you have, and how fast do you travel?

The 8-1/4 will be ok with a 360 but won't improve your mileage any.

Randy's Ring & Pinion online has a nice RPM / Gear Ratio calculator. It allows you to put in your tire size & gear ratio - then it computes your estimated RPM's based on Auto, Auto w/OD, manual, etc. You can put in different gear ratios to see where you come out at say 55mph or 70mph.
