1961 Sweptline 318 oil pan removal

I have a 1961 Sweptline with a poly 318 with the A466 auto transmission. I want to remove the oil pan but don't know if simply removing the exhaust crossover pipe will create enough clearance to get the pan removed. I really do not want to deck the engine or remove the straight axle. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
