shifter help

Hi everyone,

I picked up a pickup. 62 D100 Utiline, 225. The PO stuck a different shifter (maybe different trans) in the truck. The column shifter is hanging loose, and there is a big stick coming out the floor way way back on the trans hump. In fact, it's so far back, I can't really move the seat close enough to the pedals (for my stumpy legs) and still get the thing into 1st or 2nd. (3 speed Hurst)

Can anyone help me out? I'd love to get it back to column shift, or get the shifter in a normal placement...

Sounds like a previous owner converted the truck
to a 3 on the floor. If you can verify that the tranny
is an A745, you could then put an ad in the Parts
Wanted section for the necessary parts to get the
column shifter working again.
