How would this work.

Post by Paul »

OK gang here's something I've been thinking about.

I have a 1974 Ramcharger with not title. How much of a PITA would it be to place an A100 body on that chassie?

Right now I'm going to put my 72 cab on it it so I can put it to use.

Later,

Paul

i would think due to the relation of the engine to frame location, if you tryed to center the wheels, the engine would be too far back on the ram frame for the a body to work. just my thoughts... :2cents

Paul, Take a good set of measurements , both before & after you take both cabs off , as the A has no out side hood & cab sets forword , & just the opposite on the RC body , let us know how you come out

That and an A-100 is unibody and only has a 90" wheelbase. A b-van body would probably be easier. :thinking

Trey is completely correct. That and the RAMCHARGER is wider.
both the the van and R/C have 90" wheelbases .other than that
it's not even worth thinking about! :thinking

but, if you moved the engine rear ward in the frame rails, and played with it a bit you could have a 4x4 mid engine a100 that would be a beast in the trails due to almost perfectly even wieght distribution. :Thumbsup

guys, do like i did, take out the 318, install a 440/727 with ramcharger transfer case. build a crossmember, install the axles to the stock van springs. 4" lift in rear to level things out, cut the shafts to fit, and over the river and thru the woods you go.
this is the 2nd one i've built, this one in '88 and still havin fun with it.
