Drive Shaft Orientation

Post by Stoneburner »

Getting close to finishing the build of a 1966 A100 pickup. The alignment of the automatic 727 tail shaft is offset from the u-joint connection at the differential 3rd member. Does this sound right?

You will probably find engine is mounted to passenger side. Chrysler did that on many models. :salut :salut

The centerline if the transmission mainshaft needs to be parallel with the centerline if the pinion gear. The closer these lines are together the better, but hardly ever does a vehicle have a driveline that's a straight line.

Whether those parallel lines are side by side, top over bottom or any combination doesn't matter, at least within a certain amount of articulation.
