throttle linkage

Post by eralov »

i just installed an 83 360, flex plate, and torque converter from a van into my 67 a100 class c motorhome
i have a problem with the afb carb that is on the 360
my old 318 had a two bbl that the linkage was good front to back
the afb needs front to back at about a 45 degree angle from horizontal
this means that i cannot get full throttle via the gas pedal
what have any of you done to remedy this?
i remember that my 66 van with a 383 had a custom hand throttle (hand on the carb with the doghouse up)
but i am older and wiser now and that will no longer viable

i got it up and working
i made a new plate to bolt onto the throttle shaft. relocated and lengthened the pivot rod, but kept the kickdown in the stock location
i then shortened the shaft between the pivot rod and the throttle shaft
