I was looking at available kits last night It does look doable and may be a alternative to all the fab work and finding of old parts required for one to make a system work. It does require a manual steering box to make it work so don't throw away that old manual steering box and parts.

I dunno yet $1800 for a system may be a little steep for some as compared to Armstrong but after almost breaking my arm once from snap back while running rocks I am seriously looking at it. I am sure as Time goes on More companeys will start making these kits as Steerman makes it look way to easy their are also some people on You tube that have been robbing other cars and modifying other vehicles.

I have a car with Electric power steering and while I was skeptical of it at first when I bought the car but after driving it for 350,000 miles I can say it has been trouble free for me in my VW so could it be a Good system on a 4x4? I think its worth looking into.

There is a great thread here on a great install using a system from a wrecked Prius.

Ya I see that He started that thread after I posted mine.
I saw some other conversions on the Net and of course You tube, Their are some other company's making similar kits as well.
Some much cheaper than what I originally posted. deserves more research.

I actually bought a kit from EPAS, just haven't gotten around to installing it yet. I need to find time to take the column out and have the shaft cut and machined to fit the new collar

Can you post a Link to the one you bought? I think EPAS was one of the ones I had looked at.
Seamed strait forward and easy enough install with out a heck of a lot of modification.
