1969 vs 1970 W200

Post by DicksDodge »

Are there any mechanical differences between the 1969 and 1970 model years? Specifically talking about the drivetrain.

In 1970, you could get an optional automatic transmission in a W200. In 1969 you could not.

Did the ignition switch move to the column in 70 same as cars, or did they wait til 72? I know that's not really drivetrain related.

Thanks everyone. I've been checking out a power steering kit on the bay. Says it goes to 1969. I was pretty sure there were no differences so I may just pull the plug. Of course, if it works out, I'll post a build thread.
