Another Power steering thread.

Post by DavidBW200 »

Mine was converted sometime in the late 1990's by a previous owner. I have not had luck figuring out my what steering box I have. I sent pictures to Redhead Steering boxes, a rebuilder, I called Borgeson to inquire about a box that is part of one of their conversions that looks a lot like it, the guy I got wasn't willing to help. I've searched pretty thoroughly and scrolled through pages of pictures, no luck in getting a solid answer as to what box this is. Really hoping someone here knows something.

This is the box I have. It spews fluid from the output shaft, running or not.

Here is the bracket they made to mount it. It works, I am going to improve on it if I use this same box again, they used spacers they could have avoided using with different bolts.

Here's the other half of the project. The column doesn't line up with the shaft, and the joint rubbed on badly cut way body metal.

This is after I cut away all the sharp metal and ground off the bed liner, caulking, and spray foam.

Seems like you didn't figure out the pics. Would love to see them. PM me if you can, or drop me a note and I'll send you my email. Getting ready to do the final work on my 70 and PS is a must.
