New member, 65 W200 single cab long bed

Hey everyone,
I originally had another well typed out post that was very detailed and organized, but apparently it got deleted when the admins approved my profile. So now im going to just ask individual questions

*How many leaf springs can i remove safely, or is there a better way to drop these trucks?*

I want to lower my 65 sweptline single cab 4x4, to where the tires are just below the wheel well. No cutting the bed or anything, just a good stance. Im putting 20x12's in the rear, and 20x10 or 20x8 in the front, with a lower profile tire

Not sure why you would want to do that. Removing springs will definitely soften the ride. 61 to68 trucks sat higher than 69 to 71 W series trucks.
Look at a 69 to 71 W series truck and see why those sit lower. Wide tires on the front without Power Steering will be fun to steer in tight spots.

Full disclosure, i was originally looking for a 65 D100 shortbed single cab to do all of this to, but the price on my truck and the extra engine was such a good deal i couldnt pass it up

Im pretty new to trucks, so removing springs was just my first idea to lower it, i dont really want it low enough to justify bagging it, which is what all my muscle car/truck buddies are tellin me to do, plus i dont want to cut the wheel wells. Eventually i wana do a wood bed so i dont wana chop my bed up and potentially screw that over. I havent had any luck finding lowering parts for my truck. Will the 4x2 D100/D200 parts fit on mine? Cuz ive seen a few lowered D100's on google searches. If there is a better way im open to suggestions. Ill check out the 69-71's like u said to tho.

Would a 20x8 in the front be a better idea?

Best thing to do is sell that W series and buy a D series to lower. :thinking

I don't see why it would make any difference between 4wd and 2wd. They both used front leaf springs, one with an I-beam axle and the other with a solid tube axle. All parts could be used on either frame. Just remove the 4wd specific parts and replace with what is needed from a 2wd truck.

To me, It seems a shame to do that to a Power Wagon. I would bet that there are far more 2WDs in existence than 4WDs. Just my :2cents but I think it should be sold or traded for a 2WD model.
