That tire is going to be pinched in at bead and very rounded on tread. Will cause fast wear probably. You probably need a wheel at least 8 inches min width. :thinking

I'm with DKB on this one. You can look through my build thread. I have 31/10.50/15 on a 7 inch rim.

I think the general rule is no more than 1.5 inch over each side. I think 8 would be a better choice. If you were off road or around town you "might" be ok. There are 4wd nuts that run 10.5 on a 5.5 wheel. If you want the big tires, get the correct wheel width when you buy those after market wheels. If you even think of going bigger like a 12.5 you better buy the 10 inch wide wheels.

I was thinking that size may also be OK but the minimum width for sure. :thinking

Thanks for the help.
What is the tallest tire that will fit on my stock wheels? This is a not very often driven truck.

I'm running 275x70 BF Goodrich T/A on 17" x 8" steel wheels, with stock springs. I'm not sure the diameter of my tires, but don't think I would want to try anything larger without a lift. They are pretty close to the front edge of the front fenders. You might look through the below
"Wheels/Rims Pic" thread. Not too many W's, but still worth a look:

Wow that looks good! Did you have those steel wheels built?

Thanks!

I did have the wheels built. Could've got nice alloys for less, but I do think white steel wheels "fit" the truck best.

That is a beautiful truck and the wheels are perfect for it. Nice job!
