To put a 440 into a 72 to 93 Dodge truck you will need the following parts .

440 4 speed (truck trans) was never offered in a truck from 72 to 78. Only 400 4 spd (truck trans) Flywheel for the 440 does not exist for the externally balanced truck flywheel. B B Truck bellhousing also needed. Doing a conversion of this sort could be somewhat tedious located so far away. Brake booster interference to valve cover. Bigger rad and rad support(79 to 93) mods.

If an automatic you will require the Big Block auto trans case to do conversion.
Also needed are BB Truck pan/oil pickup and 4 wheel drive (modified 2 wheel drive) motor mounts as well as exhaust manifolds/headers. Trans kick down.

I will think of more that needs to be done to accomplish this conversion.
Lots to think about.
Take the time to plot the changeover . :thinking :thinking

If he uses an internally balanced 440 then a 143 tooth flywheel from a 318 will work. He didn't specify what 440 he was searching for.

Very true, But as we all know the conversion can be a pain if no parts available . Also very minimal info to go on.
