Dana 44 pinion yoke issue

Post by allsupj »

I had to replace the ring and pinion in my 67 Dana 44 front. I bought the ring and pinion but had to buy one with 26 splines and the old was 10, I think. My problem is now I need a new pinion yoke with 26 splines. Cannot find one for the 5380 u joint only 1310, 1330 and 1350. The only conversion u joint I can find for the 5380 is to a 1410. But I cannot find anyone that makes a 1410 yoke for the Dana 44. Unless anyone has any other ideas I may have to go with say the 1330 or 1350 and have a new shaft made up. Thanks for any input, Jon

You might try calling these guys. Scroll half way down to the 26 spline yokes.

They went out of business about 4 years ago. Another like company uses their phone number but the still working website is obsolete and many parts are not available. Thanks anyway,

Ended up buying a Dana 44 pinion for a 1350 u-joint and had a new shaft made up and on the other end a 1410 slip yoke and used a 1410 to 5380 conversion joint. Not a cheap solution but it works. Thanks for the help, Jon
