this baby is stiff

Post by FlyingEagle »

I've been driving my '62 3/4 4x4 for about a week and knew it was pretty stiff. I took it up a rocky trail today & about hit the roof a dozen times. Not much give in those springs. Hopefully it will get better as I add weight to the bed. New shocks might help. I have to say there is a world of difference between this & my (ex)Scout. This truck feels huge, has tons of torque, & no steering kick back to break your arm. :dance I'll take it on a trail Sunday that is biased towards flex & grip. Not much rocks. I imagine I'll have one wheel in the air most of the time.
Here are a few pics from Rollins Pass & Mammoth. Oh, after that narrow section on Mammoth, I pulled a Subaru out of a drift & then had to back down the trail. That tree closest to the trail has some rub marks, but not from me.
