Old Power Wagons

Post by scoutski »

I have a friend who is wanting to get rid of several old military type PW's that his late father collected. I think that they are from the 60's. If, there is any interest from site members I can inventory the lot and take pictures. These are located in East Tx. I would have snapped them up but, I'm gettin to old to bust knuckles anymore! I will respond to those who are seriousley interested.
Regards,
Bill (AKA) scoutski

Are they m-37's or flat fender pw's? Probably cost prohibitive for me to ship one unless there was something really nice

I will need to get some pictures and post them. Not to sure about flat fenders.
Things are hot and dry here in Tx. I was suprised that you remembered! You are right about shipping, with fuel over $4 bucks/gal. getting on the road is cost prohibitive! How are things in Lockport? I'll bet the fall scenery is beautifull this time of year.
Later,
Bill

Nice collection, they look to be all M-37's. Still collectible though

I edited my first post because after looking at the data plates they all are from the 60's.

just a quick question... did the front ends not change from the 40s to the 60s? cuz it just looks like the cab changed shape.

the hard cabs varied in shape, and I think they were actually made after the trucks were, like for those in need.

I have seen patterns that were available for buyers to build their own. Some have oval rear windows, etc.

The was also a pattern available to weld a bracket to strenthen a problem area in the tailgates.

One appears to have a fender mounted heater.

The white one in pic#10 has a real neat interior.

M37s are unique. the 46 to 68 Power Wagons ad WW2 WC 3/4 tons are more simliar to each other. the M37 uses many of the same parts as the PW and WC but the track is narrower so axles shafts and housings do not interchange. M37s were built from 1950 to 1967. 24 volt, water proof everything. none of the sheet metal is interchangeable with PW or WC, and they ride really well.
