Needa t-case twin stick cover / boot

Post by Cris »

Need a twin stick t-case shifter boot. I know the factory ones are like made from unicorn antler,
so what else fits.
I'm staring at a twin stick boot I bought from Novak Conversions for a jeep that won't fit, guess I
shoulda called them for dimensions first....

Anybody.?

There never was one from the factory for the twin stick rigs. You just got to feel the wind and look down at the pavement at it goes by. :pale :pale :thinking :shame :banghead

Off the top of my head, I would try: Off Road Design, North West Fab, Sumner Machine Works, and Poly Performance

Wow.! I thought there had to be something there.
And thanks to Lowdown as well, I'll google the companies you mentioned & post up if I find anything.

Hey, one more quick one, semi-on topic.
How long is the slit on your twin stick hole.?
I'm thinking mine's been buggered out some & would like to know
how it should be from the factory.

thanks,
Cris

On my '64 Fish-Wildlife & Parks W200, someone had mounted two pieces of semi-rigid 1/4" (or so) black foam strips about 2" or 3" wide (one on either side of the entire length of the opening, touching in the middle where the handles are, along their long side). This proved to be a very effective 'boot'. It was just flexible enough to let the handles move with no additional effort, but kept them sealed and non-rattling.

Just a thought...

I have seen a piece of rubber from I think a conveyer belt with a slit cut in to it and the sticks poking through the cut. Looked like it was better than nothing. I am planning on doing something similar but with a more flexable piece of rubber matting and a chrome plate from a later model Dodge transfer case shifter in my W300.
