It is an oddball question because, you either need to add a word or change a word before it could be answered.

A '65 short wheelbase Utiline would be a W100. It has the
Dana 44 & 60 eight lug axles and a 114" wheelbase. As
far as a PTO/Winch.... :thinking .... if these were added
back "in the day"..... they could be the Braden FTD7 PTO
that works off of the t-case and the Braden LU-2 winch.

i got an email back about the truck. the seller said it is a project truck. last he worked on it he did a cab swap, swapped the 65 to a 67.the 65 was full of rust. the history of the truck is his dad bought it when he was 15 for a learning/beginner truck. does this sound like a project to get cheap?

Sounds like a project or parts truck. If the PTO, winch and the
shafts/pillow blocks are all there, they're worth a few bucks. :2cents
Post up some pics if you can.

You can get whole complete running PW's for not much than that. Sounds like the winch is the only thing worth while in this deal, assuming it is COMPLETE/WORKING.

In other words if much of the truck is missing or its disassembled then the amount (money & headache)to finish it may not be a good deal in the long run. What would it take to make it a runner?

Post up some pics of the truck. If the truck isn't too
rusted and if the engine/drive line isn't completely
whipped.... $800-ish isn't too bad. Perhaps he'd
take less if you're waving money in front of him. :idea

Ditto.... even if you needed ALL the parts off of it for another truck, $800 is pushing it.

As for finishing the truck itself, too much missing.

I'd say if the winch is complete & in working order then $350-$400

Between the axles and the winch you probably have $800 in parts plus whatever you can get for the rest.

If the PTO, shafts/pillow blocks & winch
[with actuator cable & hand throttle]
are all there, I'd say its worth $500-$600
all day long. I don't think you'd tick
this guy off if you offered $550 for
truck as it sits. :2cents
