will thes motors bolt straight up???

Post by cacheton »

A buddy of mine got his hands on a 413 and a 440...will either of these bolt up to my 71 w200? I currently have a 318 in it backed by a NP 435 and a NP205 case.

no. you will need a big block bellhousing, and different motor mounts. and a different radiator. Ozzie.

Big block bellhousings can be tough to come by, but they can be found. As for BB engines they bolt in easy, the frame mounts for the engine are the same big or small block even the rubber engine mount. The difference is the mounting bracket on the engine that bolts to the engine mount. Which any BB one will work 383 or 440.

To add to Ozzie's list.... you'd need
a different flywheel as well. That 413
might have an eight bolt crank flange
which would produce another issue
altogether.....
