Fargo W-300 4x4, 318cid, -62 Firetruck.
Greetings from Finland. I have the restoration of Fargo W-300 4x4, -62 old firetruck. Here attached a few pictures at Fargo. I signed up here because here in the forum, that I might have your advice and tips with the car. I need a few parts of the USA.
searchlight that comes on the roof, bonnet locking system so the windlock and strike plates, original backlights, and drivingwheel cover.
The attached link is a Finnish Off-Road forum page, outlining the project in my Fargo. I tried to add pictures here, but I failed.

Would appreciate if some would have interest in helping with this project, because here in Finland, these cars are not much available, that is, we call it a rarity.
Sincerely, Saku Rouvali.

Welcome to the forum. That is a nice Power Wagon! I like the bigger trucks. We need more Europeans on the forum... Fargos represent!
Try posting what you need in the Parts Wanted section and looking in the For Sale section. There are lots of parts available. Good luck.

Thanks for the nice reception ... :)
In Finland, there are only few Dodge, DeSoto, Fargo, manufactured by -60, and -70 in Chapter trucks, and only fire truck you see them. Fargo does not exist Finnish-language page of any knowledge of the English language so certainly something small. What's the difference between a Dodge, Fargo, and DeSoto are reality? I thought before that Fargo have been made in Canada, but once again this car reads a big plate: Made in the USA...!!!
How to get here to be added those pictures? edit: Now I learned... :D
Thanks for your help and greetings from cold Finland. Here is minus -24`C, and the clock is 8:30 am.

This is Sodankylä`s blacksmiths repair bonnet attachment :(
The upper picture is a face painting bonnet attachment, and the lower picture, the bonnet only place to track...

Re: Fargo W-300 4x4, 318cid, -62 Firetruck.
Fargo trucks were never sold new in the USA. Some were made here but they were all for export to another country. Many think of them as Canadian but they were also in other parts of the world.
You mention needing original backlights. Do you have a picture? I don't think any Dodge truck in the USA is going to have the same ones that you have.
We do have a few members in the Scandanavian countries. I know we have a few from Sweden.

I was thinking the rods were going to fly right out of the side of the block when you started that. That isnt a good thing to do, hard on bearings and scores cylinder walls.

That is a very cool and rare truck. The "Made in USA" tags (which are reproduced now) were on export vehicles only. I don't think that you will find any of that fire equipment installed in Finland from the US. I do not know too much about fire equipment but I think that in the 60:s most of that stuff used in Finland came from Europe. You might check with Jari Auvinen who takes care of the Helsinki Fire Museum, he has written a book about Finnish fire trucks, several Dodges and Fargos in it. He might be able to help you find what you need in terms of fire gear. Same thing with anything that relates to that (most likely) Finnish built body and the tail lights you mentioned. Do you mean the lights that are on the truck now, they look like some universal truck or trailer lights? Or something that was on the truck before?
I am sure that someone on the forum can help you with the Dodge/Fargo specific stuff though. And those 300-500 series trucks were very common with fire departments in Finland in the mid 60:s so you might even find the parts close to home. Some were working in commercial hauling as well, I know there were 3 D500 size KEW Fargos at the old Tampere match factory truck cemetary but unfortunately that area has now been cleaned up. It is interesting that while the heavier trucks were plentiful the half ton and three quarter ton Dodges and Fargos were very rare. I do have a 1964 Fargo D100 Sweptline shortbed, reportedly one of two sold new in Finland.
If you need any help with translations etc send me a PM.

The truck's looking good! I had a tough time reading the comments though. Guess I'm not too bright. Mike

I was just being funny. I don't read Finnish. Or speak it for that matter! I envy folks that can function in another language as I can barely function in English. I really like your truck though! Mike

Ok. I thought that you have a translation program to read through the text. There's a lot of dialect words, which certainly are tricky. But the Google translator to translate to give even the entire page, but should be quite a lot of grammatical errors. Now here is like my English writing ...
