2" lift with D springs; fact or fiction?
2" lift with D springs; fact or fiction?
Well, I measured the distance between the top of the springpack and the bottom of the frame on 3 67 trucks.1 bb d100,1 bb w200& 1sb w200.Both W's were 5"in the center of the spring. The D 100 was 5 1/4". So do we need to compare late W100 springs with d 200 springs, or is this whole 2" lift thing ?

the difference you get between a d200 and w200 is about the same as the d200's drop axle. wheels are in approximatly the same place on both d and w modles, but the springs on the d are arched to compensate for the drop axle where the ones on the w are basically flat. im not sure on 100's, but this is what i have seen when comparing a d&w 200 side by side. just a thoery as of yet, havent actually tryed swapping them around to see if it does anything at all.

Give me some numbers guys.
I Have measured three pre69W200s and all are 5" from the top of the topleaf ( 2"behind rear u-bolt on front axle)straight up to the bottom of the frame.I measured the same spot on my 67 d100 and got 5 1/4". That means there is only 1/4" difference in arch between my D and W front springs. Please throw me a bone and tell me what you guys' get for a number in the spot I described between the springpack and frame.Inquiring minds want to know. D or W any year will help on this subject .Please state year,100 or 200,and D or W, number of springs and measurement.
thanks,Doug.
