new truck (to me) what do you think

Post by Bigben »

I got a call from my sister in-law two weeks ago who asked me if I might be interested in an old pickup some friends of hers were going to junk. Being a junk hound my ears perked up and I asked her what exactly it was. she wasn't really sure so after a few phone calls she calls me back and says its a powerwagon something or other, I said yes I am very interested. I went and got it last weekend. what do you think.
Total investment so far. 200
80 dollars for gas to get it
120 dollars for new trailer tire after one blew out on me on I-95

This is supposed to be an ex colorado forestry truck. brought to Ft Bragg by a soldier. seems to be true the mudflaps are from denver and the truck has a hat holder in it like a forest ranger would use for the brown round they wear. it was also originally kind of a creamy green color.
What do you think? I think I made out like a fat cat. everything works plus its got a nicer stereo in it than my 77 chevy daily driver.

for right now I'm going to use it around the house and try to put as little money into it as I can, because I'm right in the middle of building a street/strip car and need the money for that. But in the future I think I would like to turn it into a workhorse by putting a welder, cutting rig, and maybe an air compressor on the back of it and using it to start a side business working on logging equipment.

I can't believe somebody was going to junk something in that condition and you got it for free. You would be hard pressed to find something like that around here.

Sounds like you are close to me.

That is one heck of a deal. Mine doesn't look half that good and I had to pay for it.
