66 W200

Post by leo1287 »

Hello all,
Just bought a 1966 W200 from a friend. Has 86,650 original miles and is in stock condition. Has a utility box, going to remove it and build a flat-bed for my use. I have a lot of changes to make to it, cannot leave things like the factory made them. I believe it has a 318 poly, how do I tell? Going to upgrade to Pertronix ignition, dual pipes and Summit mufflers, plug wires, rebuild 2-barrel (maybe later swap to 4-barrel)
I am going to have a lot of questions to ask. Where can I find specs on this engine-timing, valve adjustments, normal tuning specs?

you can tell a poly 318 by the scalloped valve covers. as far as an electronic ignition, just find a later model dodge truck in the salvage yard and take it off it is an easy swap. you can get all the wiring diagrams off the internet. Ozzie.
