70 powerwagon

I have a 70 powerwagon, farm truck, powder bluie and rust, not pretty but only 46,000 on it. Interested in selling but no idea of what to ask for it. Has a 318, 4spd on the floor. Looking for a discussion on a fair price for it?

Ron;

As is often the case, it is worth what someone is willing to pay for it. That being said, here is my :2cents

'70 4x4 (W series) - is it a 100 (1/2 ton) or a 200 (3/4 ton) ?? This may make a little difference depending on the buyer's needs.

Farm Truck - some are well taken care of, some not. Overall condition will be the biggest factor, IMHO. If it's beat and rusty, there's going to be little demand (many available in this shape). Rust - look at and be able to explain (pictures are best!) the rocker panels/door steps & floor pans, especially. The bed, tailgate, bumpers, dash, doors, etc. - all of it - will be high on potential buyers question list.

Blue color - of no consequence.

46,000 miles - all well and good, but if it's in need of repairs, mileage is not all important. How is the 318 engine? The transfer case? the 4 speed transmission? the drivelines?

So, if it is nearly as you describe (a rusty, used specimen) I would think that $500 is a median price, and that's given that the mechanical condition is decent and working. Now, that's only my opinion based on what I've seen and done. Trim and condition are going to be your biggest selling points.

Where is it? That makes a pretty big difference, too. I'd be interested depending on location.
