Raiders

Post by MountainMoparRobin »

I'm a KC born and bread, however, both me and my wife (Redskins) enjoyed watching the Raiders beat the Steelers. THE ALLEGED SUPERBOWL VICTORY, WASNT A VICTORY, THEY WERE GIVEN THE GAME BY THE OFFICIATING CREW, just goes to show ya that Las Vegas has influence with the Refs

1) I'm doing without the "H" for now, as it stands for Horrible- as in their performance on Sunday. :joker

Floorguy, suurrre you are!

But, Denver's advantage is they will WIN next week! Oakland; well, their season remains dependent on how many prisoners they can get in an exchange with the California Bureau of Prisons. You know, the present players go back to jail for some R&R, and Oakland gets some fresh meat on the field, fit and ready to play! Just like Dallas does it!!! Notice their roster almost completely changes every two years? It's their Prisoner Exchange Program, started 20 years ago with the Texas Department of Prisons at Huntsville! That's why, and it's a stroke of genius! Two years in, two years out, and if you're a good boy, parole at the end. Three hots and a cot, either way! Players claim to be making million$, but Jimmy Johnson gets ALL of the cash. Players get relative freedom, all the poon they care to tang-o with, a fancy car and house (all owned by the Cowboys) and you have a football team! Everybody is happy!

Patrick,

You're right! That's why they both have more Superbowl Trophies than the timid ponies! :Thumbsup

You're also the only one that replies so quickly and seriously. I think you and I are both VERY passionate about our teams. I love it. Without the rivalry, life could be boring at times... :thinking

rigged

Post by MountainMoparRobin »

I came to the conclusion, for a numerous reasons: the biggest, Rothenburg didn't get the ball across the goalline no matter how many times ya look at it, they made alot of calls that kept the momentum from going to the Seahawks, I hope not to see another Rigged SuperBowl :Thumbsup What we are seeing out of Pittsburgh is more of what is expected.
I'm a little concerned Art Shell may get something going! And the fact that KC still has to play them twice??? I think they could get on a role if they start believing in themselves.
Not what I need with a coach in KC that took the best offense in the NFL and made it a so so, Althogh I was happing to see LJ break out :dance

Robin,

I wouldn't be too concerned about Oakland. The offense stinks. I'm thrilled that they beat the mild Steelers. But if not for the two interceptions returned for two touchdowns, we would have lost. That's why I've got to give the "D" credit, but they can't carry the season. So, I'm not so sure they can beat your Chiefs. :thinking

Raiders

When the Raiders VS Chiefs, record in of no importance, especially now, Art Shell is from my day, and so is Herm Edwards, former defensive back from the Chiefs, they both know the tradition, lots of history between these two, Ben Davidson, Jim Otto, Ugene Upshaw vs Buch Buchanan, Jim Tyler, Otis Taylor, Len Dawson, Curly Culp, Mike Garret, the "Tank Holmes", all from my day when I played :Thumbsup

Who was the KC Coach in the 60' and ealy 70's? I love the NFL Films clips of him yelling at the players and referees. What a character.

As for my days, I first started watching the Raiders in 1975. My stepfater got me started. He taught at Chabot College from 1967-1984. For a short time, the Raiders had their training camps at Chabot, so my stepfather got to know some of these guys. Ken Stabler, Ray Guy, Art Shell, Ted Hendicks, Mark VanEagen and so on are the Glory Days for me.

But now? No glory...just passion for my team. :Thumbsup
