HD gauges,,, found new ones.......

Post by wideblock »

today i was in checker/shuks/kragan to get an air cleaner for the company frod. behind the counter sat an eqquis display full of all the gauges they offer. they have a set of black faced gauges that i swear are as close to a perfect match for my hd set up as it could get without being on purpose. even the chrome trim ring is almost identicle. greatest part, they are even the right size for my panel without mods. give me a few weeks, and youll get a pic of how nice the look in my dash. :Thumbsup

these would be perfect for those of you who want the hd set up that arent totally concerned about 100% perfect restoration pieces. these are about 98% dead on perfect. id be willing to say, if the 2 wernt side by side, no one would know the difference. the big give away is the trip meter on the speedo, dodge never had that, but you can bet ill be useing it. LOLOL!!!

Here is a link to the gauges that I think Trey is talking about.... scroll down for specific part numbers.
They certainly will look very nice in our trucks. I hope to use them too.

Dave I believe they also have white face gauges. Go to your local O'Reilly's and check it out. I don't work there anymore, but the display Trey is talking about is the same as the one in every O'Reillys.

i like them but they are missing a big part of the HD GAUGES - the chrome button in the middle.

plus the font is more "modern era" being that they are using an italic sans serif based font versus the old scholl vertical block letters with no variation for thick and thin. however the bezels do look nice with the black face and white letters.

This set you speak of, does it include all the gauges, ie Fuel, Alt, Speedo, Temp, and Oil? Im looking to redo my whole dash and am looking for an affordable "set" that will solve my problems.

Yes, all of those are available, but I don't think they come as a set. The pieces are sold individually
as can be seen in the link in my post above. Part numbers are shown for each part.

those are the ones i saw. i never said they are a perfect match, but they are the closest thing i have seen in a modern gauge. plus, unless you had the real ones sitting there, 9 out of 10 people would never know the difference. i went back and stared some more today during lunch. the tach is only 55 bucks!!! speedo was 65. beats the hell outta the 200+ vdo i was looking at. thsi store had the 3 gauge set, but not a complete set. but they did offer each gauge individually, plus some extras to fill the holes i have in my dash. so ill have amps, fuel, speedo, tach, oil pres, and water temp in the factory dash, then in the extra 3 holes ill have tranny temp, volts, and the fuel gauge for the aux tank. and they will all MATCH!!!

they had the white faced gauges as well with the satin finish outer ring. also a very attractive set. they also had the monster tachs with taddle tail and shift light. i had to leave before the credit card jumped out of my wallet and started swiping its self.LOLOLOL

hi keith - i think those were considered the "optional highline" gauges... even though they use the same pods as the HD...
