What do you do with your sweptline today?

The plan is to roll some new bearings in it and run it.
I have seen this once before. It was on a Chevy engine with a cast crank and the thrust surface on the crank was worn also. That one went in the scrap pile.
This time the crank still looks good. Just a worn bearing.

Wouldn't the fan spinning on the front keep the crank full forward against the thrust bearing?

I wouldn’t think so the fan is on the water pump.

would think you can find thicker thrust bearing as long as crank isn't worn

Drove the Green Truck down the hill into Silicon Valley to deliver a pallet of a 69 W200 driveline components to Old Dominion Freight. Stopped at the Hospital for a pacemaker check. Got a burger for breakfast (the first I've had in a couple of years). Stopped at A&M Motor Parts. Spent a half hour at the Post Office.

The entire time I never locked it. Seeing as the truck has this special security system otherwise known as a "manual transmission."

A manual choke is almost the same deturant if the engine is cold. The battery will die before they could make it start.

Unfortunately, the Edelbrock thermoquad carburetor accelerator pump bore on The Green Truck is so corroded it can't squirt, so I have to keep a can of ether in the cab or I can't start it. Of course, that presupposes that said malefactor wouldn't think the ether is for vaping ether instead of starting the truck.

Checked the fuel tank sending unit and ended up replacing the brass float. I was getting inaccurate readings and thought maybe the variable resistor was bad but found the float with a crack and filled with gas. Reads correctly now. I dug out an NOS sending unit just in case but wasn't needed. That's it, no major work done.

I had my flywheel resurfaced, ordered my ring gear, bought some bolts.

The Green Truck moved four 16' cattle panels and a gate for a wild pig trap down to the house. Balanced them hanging over the cab. I'll be using the panels as reinforcing wire in concrete slabs I hope to pour this month.
