M37 Bed on Power wagons?

Post by 64D100Poly »

Did they ever put M37 beds on to Power wagon Sweptlines? I found a collection of pics some photographer took of abandoned places in Colorado one night just browsing the web, one of them had a teal Power wagon 62-early65 with a M37 bed, it was color matched to the body and looked like it weathered equally to the rest of the truck, is this something that was done? I'll try to post a pic when I figure out how to drop the resolution :Thumbsup

Edit: Actually looks like the bed that the 50's military Power wagons had, maybe surplus beds?

Looks like a factory "Utiline" (aka stepside) 8ft bed. yes, those were available. I believe they offered 6ft, 8ft and 9ft versions of the stepside and 6ft and 8ft of the smooth side "sweptline" bed

It's not a utiline bed. Either military, FFPW or from another make.

Looks to be a mid-'65 and later 8ft Utiline box with different fenders on it. :thinking

that is a special order set up . i have seen pics on two original trucks set up that way. one was fire truck and the other a forest service truck like that one appears to be. its actually a 9 foot bed on a w200 with a flat fender power wagon fender. all utiline beds will accept that fender if you drill the holes for it. same holes as the D/W300 dually utiline would use. its easy to spot 9' beds because they are the only ones with center stake pocket
