Hood Hinges

Would someone want to take a shot at identifying what I’m working with and maybe share what I need to have to make all this work together on this Frankenstein? As I learned in another thread, the cab is a 71 and the hood is 67 or older. What’s the deal with the hinges??

The hinges look the same as on my '67 D100. What exactly are you trying to figure out? What isn't working?

The hinges are down on the firewall as far as they can possibly go. It even looks like someone used a hammer to massage the inner fenders to allow them to be pushed even further down. The hood still sits way too high on the drivers side. So high that I can actually fit my hand between the hood and cowl... I’ve been in touch with PwrWgnDrvr, he’s helped me out quite a bit so far so I will add spacers where he’s suggested and see what we can come up with!

By "too high on the driver's side"..... do you mean from back to
front or just at the back of the hood near the cowl? If its just
near the cowl, you can try loosening the "FRONT" hinge to hood
bolts..... inserting shims.... and re-tightening. It sounds a bit
weird.... but this can bring the hood down closer to the cowl
in some instances.

I had a similar problem with the hood sitting too high. Based on advice from this forum I placed spacers/shims between the hinge and the hood in the upper hole (see photos). I had to use more spacers on the passengers side as you can see in the pics to get the hood even across the back with the cowl. In addition to lowering the hood they should also pull the hood closer to the cowl. Hope this helps.
