new high school kid with a 66 d200 stepside

Post by jrusk450 »

Hey I'm new here, so I own a korean war green 1966 dodge d200 stepside that was used by the national gaurd, got it recently, I got it to run and drive as well as cleaning up with a help from my friends. still needs a bit of work. I also have a nearly complete '65 dodge front end that I will be selling for parts money, as well as a bench seat and some door panels off a 65. let me know if you'd like more details on the parts, I will be posting pics of the truck and progress on here. also going to be looking for a 71-74 charger to complete my set of vehicles. Im in bay area california, lemme know about anything you wanna know about.

Welcome to the group jrusk450. I too am new to the group and haven't yet taken possession of my '67 stepside (or utiline) D100. Sounds like you have been around cars and trucks for awhile and know what you like. Please post some pictures. We all love pictures.

July '50 - July '53, actually. My uncle was there with the
424th Field Artillery Battalion which was one of just three 8"
battalions that saw action.

Post up photos when you can. If you want to make some
parts money..... put an ad in the For Sale section. :welcome :welcome :Thumbsup

Correct, there is no formal treaty ending the Korean "Conflict," so named because it was fought under UN aegis as a "police action" and was never a formally declared war.

I hope you noticed the home town of the OP. Mayhap he would appreciate some whiz-dome.

So noted, as evidenced by my first post above.

My senior year was the only one I had at Acalanes.
I had so many units I only needed three classes each semester. I was hardly there.
Didn't take any shop classes that year. I was a very troubled teen and ended up homeless on the streets of Oakland the next year.

I had a '64 Dart 270 with a 318, A833 Hurst, massive disc brakes, 8-3/4 X 2.93 axle, and big sways front and rear, Yoko 225-70-HR14 tires, complete with flared fenders and an air dam. I'd spent a year tricking out a Holley 650. It was painted in a gray lacquer about the color of pavement (Camo!). It was a Porsche destroyer, whether on Highway 24, Pleasant Hill Rd/Taylor Blvd, or even on Bear Creek. Loved that car.

As to the truck I'm building now, you can check out the project for which it is intended here: https://www.wildergarten.org/wildergarten.html

No, he didn't have "a" car of that era....he had many!
I was 2 yrs later at Del Valle, if you ever heard of that.
I was going to list Acalanes, but not many WC residents go there.
My cousin was the auto shop instructor at Las Lomas for many yrs, about 10 yrs ago.
I drive by Acalanes many times a week.
Here's an interesting thought for you and others:
Many of us have been on these forums since before you were born..... :pale
