'69 Champion RV
My latest folly. Lots of rot in the wood, but since it's so unique, I plan to fix it.
Anyone ever seen another one? I can't find much info about old Champion motorhomes on the web.

Now that is wild. In a way, sensible, but bizarro!

Re: '69 Champion RV
You should look into finding some forums for antique campers. That would be a BIG help for the camper part. The whole unit looks really cool, and I am glad you are going to restore/fix it up. I find it just a bit odd that it only has a 318 in it... but they can have a lot of power too.

One would be vintagetrailersupply.com. I found LED cab top running lights there in stainless steel that looked very much like the original. Another good source has been etrailer.com.Jims68 wrote: ↑Tue Sep 29, 2020 6:12 amYou should look into finding some forums for antique campers. That would be a BIG help for the camper part. Re: '69 Champion RV
It probably has 4.88 gearing. That and 212hp did the job.Jims68 wrote: ↑Tue Sep 29, 2020 6:12 amYou should look into finding some forums for antique campers. Re: '69 Champion RV
I hate to say this... but I did think its probably due to the "gearing" after I had typed all that in and hit SUBMIT and rather than going back and doing an edit.... I got lazy . I did NOT however think of the rear being a 4.88!!

Re: '69 Champion RV
Its rare to find a 300 that isn't 4.88.

I really like that. The reverse slanted windshield is just cool. Good on you for saving it.

Re: '69 Champion RV
It has a practical purpose and you'll see it on most commercial ships, tugboats, etc. It deflects reflections from instruments and the interior such that the glass is clear at night. The visibility is much better.

Driving that RV is pretty much like piloting a ship.....Wildergarten wrote: ↑Tue Oct 06, 2020 7:37 am

Do you mean something like a Sailing ship (Mayflower) OR something more in the lines of an Aircraft Carrier (USS Enterprise)?
