I found what looks like the number 2 on right side, by the spring hanger. But can’t find ANYTHING along with it. It is hard to tell in the pic, but up close in person, it looks the same style of 2 as on drivers side.PwrWgnDrvr wrote: ↑Wed Feb 27, 2019 9:05 amYa, that's CLEAR! No doubt about it. It is not a sweptline era vin so the mystery remains. Maybe a part #? Is it possible it is not a swepty frame?
(Per the decoder, if it were a vin, it would be a 2 ton 4x4 truck with a zero cylinder engine.)

The first 4 digits can be tied to frames in the parts book. The ones I foundThirsty wrote: ↑Wed Feb 27, 2019 7:15 am
I THINK....I may have figured out how to post a pic. Re-grinded on the frame last night, the pic is from the DRIVER’S side, under the door. The letter F seems to be clear, but puzzling since you say there shouldn’t be any letters in the 10 digit number.

under 2509 were linked to 122" WB frames. I didn't find a 2509-230 in the parts
book I had at my disposal the other evening....

That plate welded to the frame at the spring hanger is an owner add-on and not factory installed. VIN may be under it?Thirsty wrote: ↑Wed Feb 27, 2019 9:43 amI found what looks like the number 2 on right side, by the spring hanger. But can’t find ANYTHING along with it. The number on the driver's side is most likely the part number for the frame. It's possible the frame VIN is covered.
That looks like a nice truck.

Re: New member
Just MAYBE the frame is from a Canadian built truck seeing as Idaho borders with BC and close to Alberta. If so look for a VIN at left rear drivers side on frame over axle facing towards tire.
My truck is younger than me.

Frame above front axle or rear, Kim?
Tnx for posting that. I was wondering where it is on CAN built trucks.

Thank you for the feedback, I appreciate it. I didn’t work on it today, but will soon. If I can’t find anything on the rest of the frame (over the rear axles) i’ll check under the shock mounts.

Re: New member
The number doesn't match any Canadian VIN system either. That was one of 1st things I thought of.
Re: New member
I removed the shocks and mounting brackets yesterday, still didnt find any numbers underneath.

Re: New member
The only other numbers I found were under the driver’s door, a foot away from the first set. And they were very small, and only 7 digits, not ten. 2 5 0 9 2 3 5.........missing the F14 at the end that the first set had.

Re: New member
looks like a part number. I "THINK" on my truck the serial number was BIG. I WISH I took a picture of it when I first saw it, but I thought... OK, there it is, no big deal... move on, nothing to see here folks.

Re: New member
A parts number would have 7 digits. I'm surprised the numbers don't match, 2509230 vs. 2509235.
Re: New member
Yea, it’s strange. I searched around over the rear axles too, like Kim suggested. (maybe from Canada)soopernaut wrote: ↑Fri Mar 01, 2019 7:35 amA parts number would have 7 digits. I'm surprised the numbers don't match, 2509230 vs. 2509235.

Re: New member
If that is a part number that "can't be found" in a book, it makes me wonder if it was a "Special Order" Frame or something like that?
