New Member and Near Future Build

Post by DeepSea »

Hey everyone,

So a couple years ago I was visiting the South Outer Banks, NC and drove past this truck that instantly won my heart over. I found out that old rusted truck on the side of the road was a 1964 Dodge W200 Crew Cab. I've since returned to Hawaii since then and have had many sleepless nights thinking about that truck and how cool it would be to tote the family and myself around in one of those... Well the time is coming for me to move back to the mainland and I've decided it's time to prepare for this project. I've sold my truck and I'm starting to jot things down on my note pad of some ideas for my truck. This will be my first truck build and was just wondering where I should start looking to find my future truck. I've spent countless hours searching craigslist with little luck. I have seen the dodgepowerwagon classifieds and m a part of a couple power wagon groups on Facebook. Maybe somebody could enlighten a fellow. Thanks a ton.

Good luck with your move back and future build. I agree that you should focus on the Southwest, Arizona and New Mexico.

Aloha! :welcome :usa What mechanical experience do you have?
These W200 Power Wagons are a rough ride in their original configuration.
You might also consider a D200 [2wd] Crew Cab? :idea :2cents They're
a bit more forgiving. Bringing one back from "alongside the road" condition
might set you back a few grand. :pale I'd look for something that's currently
on the road and in decent operating condition as a foundation for your build. :2cents :Thumbsup
