Recently my car( 2004 Subaru) developed ac problems which I have not fixed yet so I drive around with the windows down. It sucks because it is very very loud and buffeting.
Yesterday I drove my 66 sweptline and really noticed how nice it was with the windows down. Quiet and not windy. Just a small observation that I found interesting.

Re: windows down
Newer vehicles were not designed to drive with windows down, nor to listen to AM radio..... and a vehicle with a broken A/C is 3 times hotter to drive than one that didn't ever have A/C.
My observations.

Re: windows down
Crack the back windows, and/or rear-most windows. This should alleviate most of the buffeting problems. My PT Cruiser is notorious for buffeting if you don't open at least one of the rear windows.

I've also noticed the same as you Jim100. I was just talking with a friend of mine today about that with the windows down.

Re: windows down
I have yet to see a Tesla , Prius with the windows down or the driver smiling for that matter .
I love driving my truck with the windows down or any of my vehicles.
