This truck is up for sale near me and I really want to grab the rear bumper and just
resell the truck. It's a running /6 with a rebuilt carb but it hasn't been on the road
since the late 90's. Some some surface rust/patina but the rest seems solid.
I know parts of the country still see deals on these but not out here much. Looking to
get opinions on the range this truck would go for on the West Coast. I'd need to get
close to $3k for it to make sense for me to bother. I REALLY want that rear bumper lol.

In our area.... I'd estimate its value at $2000-$2500?

Thanks. I was guessing something similar. I think he's at the top of the market with his price so if I were to buy, remove
the bumper and resell I could be sitting on it a while or have to sell low and potentially be paying a lot of $$ for the bumper.
Of course I know these bumpers are rare and rather expensive when they come up for sale so there's that too.

Buying, hauling, flipping/parting, make that bumper extremely expensive and risky if your time and the time value of your money is worth anything.

That's a nice truck. In Austin that's a 4500 truck if it were running, inspected and Mexican blanket on the seat. I think that in Lockport, it would be the only non-rusty truck there. (I was born in Rochester, most cars growing up had no trunk floor due to rust. Moved to Texas and rust here is from the top down)

Agree, I know it could quickly become the most expensive time sucking bumper I've
ever bought! I'm starting to think I'm really only considering it because I want the whole
truck.

As far as what would I pay? I offered him $350 because I could have picked it up and
had it on my truck the same day. I don't know if that's what they can be had for it's
just the number I was willing to part with if he said yes.

Truck sold.... just under $3k I believe. The bumper search continues.....

Here in NL, most would probably be asking $7-8000 CAD. I honestly believe that value is very subjective because is all depends on how bad a person wants a vehicle.

Exactly. It's only "worth" what someone is willing to pay for it.

Agree, seems prices vary greatly be region, how rusty, short bed/long bed and how badly a person
wants that exact truck. I've seen other swepty trucks on CL for months and this one sold in less than
a week. If I had somewhere to put it I probably would have grabbed it, removed the bumper and put
it back on CL.

I like the glove box radio option.
