440 into my truck

Post by Xcrunner67 »

Ok, next question. Will a 440 engine and 727 transmission fit into my 1967 dodge d 100 stepside. It is a 1977 engine out of a motor home with 27,000 miles on it. What do you think a good price to offer the owner.
Thanks.

It will fit.....with a whole lot of mods to frame and parts needed. This topic has been answered in detail multiple times, search the forum and read up on it.

That's the exact combo that was in my 67 when I bought it. Motor Mounts, trans mount, big block radiator, and maybe. Drive shaft and you are ready to go.

383/727 into my 69 shorty. Was /6 3 speed. Not change in driveshaft or trans crossmember. Just larger motor brackets and new mounts. Somehow even the tranny bushing was the same so lucky. Had to modify the column shift arm to fit the headers. Even changed to an automatic column. Best of luck j

solution then could be to find a newer trans crossmember for the older units. i have the same issues going slush box on 68 crew project. thanks for the insight. best of luck on the change over.
