Re: So this is our superbird that we had forever
I am gonna email mecum tomorrow and tel them that I have a bunch of pictures from the night we sold it (yep did it after hours). Got the guys loading it into the trailer (enclosed of course). The 2 owners at the time of the dealership in front of it. A bunch of pics of it on the show room and in parades around the area...we still have every original piece of paperwork for it!
Cool story, my mom was the secretary at the time, we were at my cousins birthday party in town and the two owners of the dealership called her and told her to come do the paperwork (as in right now, after hours) she eft the party and did the paperwork.....now all these years later, my mother is part owner of the dealership

I am seriously considering flying down there with my brother for a day to watch it sell and talk to everyone about it (probaby even wear my dealership outfit, just for a coolness factor). Bring the new owner all of the pics and stuff we have

NO...............Don't go that will jack up the price and I won't be able to afford it. Wait until I buy it then give me the stuff. Just kidding. That is a really cool story though. Re: So this is our superbird that we had forever
I have heard guesses from every end of the spectrum, one of the partners at work doesn't think it will bring $50,000 another thinks only $100,000 and all my Chrysler reps that i have told have guessed around $250,000. My dad (who is a mopar freak all his life) says its gonna go at least $500,000 and probably $1,000,000.......i honestly don't have a clue where it will end up, but i will definitely be watching

With that low of mileage and the full documentation the car has, I could see $500K pretty easily.

That blue really looks sweet on there.
I passed on a faded lime green one on Colorado for 5,000 back in the day. Bought a Hemi Challenger for 4,500 instead. Should have bought the bird instead, but both fun cars.

Sure sounds cheap HUH but not back then it was a ton of money . I still have my Coronet R/T which has always been my favorite so I am happy . John has a close twin to mine too.Jims68 wrote:"looking back".... you SHOULD'VE bought them BOTH!!pismopowerwagon wrote:That blue really looks sweet on there.

Re: So this is our superbird that we had forever
Yeah... I know you're right about them being "cheap" now. I sold my numbers matching Sun-burnt Orange edition 1970 Challenger 440 SIX PACK, 4 Speed HEMI Box trans, with DANA 60 rear for $2500 and that was a LOT of money in 1979!!!pismopowerwagon wrote:Sure sounds cheap HUH but not back then it was a ton of money . My old orange Hemi Challenger is on the cover of June 2015 Mopar collectors guide( don't know how to link story on here). Similar options to yours but Hemi
